Veiled Threat

Rune Polearm

Category:
weapon (melee)
Description:

Veiled Threat is a runed Lochaber Axe. The hilt/handle is normally 8ft long and the entire weapon is made of “moon rock” or some kind of dark moonstone (black gemstone like onyx or obsidian). The weapon is very heavy – it requires a minimum Supernatural P.S. of 25 to wield (and even then, the wielder is -4 to Strike, Parry and Dodge). A Supernatural P.S. of 30 or greater is required to wield without that penalty. The hilt of this weapon grows when it is swung and will actually double in length, giving the wielder greater momentum and vastly improved striking force/distance.

This weapon is normally invisible and completely undetectable by thermal, radar, and spells or abilities to See the Invisible spell. It also provides its wielder a bonus to intimidate of +30%.

I.Q.: 17
Alignment: Aberrant

Damage: 2D6×10 M.D. + SNPS

Veiled Threat is affected by gravity differently than anything else. The blade has incredible mass and can generate the inertia of an aircraft carrier. The weapon cannot be entangled. However this momentum builds slowly and comes at a cost – only the bonuses from the wielder’s P.P. attribute and those listed below apply when swinging the weapon.

  • For the FIRST action that Veiled Threat is swung: The wielder is actually -3 to strike and parry. The defender is at +3 to parry or dodge. If the wielder attempts a dodge for any reason then the buildup of momentum is broken and must start again. If not, the momentum continues to build into the second action…
  • For the SECOND action that Veiled Threat is swung: The wielder is now only -1 to strike and parry. The defender is only at +1 to parry or dodge. If the wielder attempts a dodge for any reason then the buildup of momentum is broken and must start again with the FIRST action. If not, the momentum continues to build into the third action…
  • For the THIRD and SUBSEQUENT actions that Veiled Threat is swung: The wielder no longer has any negative penalties to strike or parry. The defender no longer has any bonus to strike or parry. If the wielder attempts a dodge for any reason then the buildup of momentum is broken and must start again with the FIRST action. Otherwise, momentum is maintained and base damage done by Veiled Threat while this momentum is maintained is now DOUBLED ((2D6×10 + SNPS)×2). If a critical strike is rolled base damage is TRIPLED ((2D6×10 + SNPS)×3)
Bio:
