The Library. So many mysteries and questions. I had to step away from this journal for a little while but I should be able to finish this story now. This is becoming so much longer of an entry than I expected! I prepared to enter the tunnel but one by one the others showed up. At least, some of them. The Deacon arrived first and filled me in on the events that transpired back in the apartment. He also told me our Sowki friend called himself Pall Mall – finally! Not that I like him (but he is growing on me, so to speak – more on why later), but it’s nice to be able to refer to a being by a name, and not just “Hey, you!” or “Sowki!”. I know I never cared to be refered to as “Human”.

Where was I? The Deacon? He told me that he shot and killed the soldier, and instantly became someone I could both like and be wary of again. He said Zeela never came back, so I guess that was the end of that. He and Pall searched through the apartment and found some things – The Deacon mentioned a couple of the things he found, and described some sort of safe/iron maiden thing? The Deacon then mentioned to me that he had some nightmares or something as well, but with the horrific scene in that room, I’m glad I can meditate to rest rather than rely on sleeping – I don’t even want to know what kind of horror my subconscious is waiting to unleash!

Pall Mall drifted on in as The Deacon finished his story and added just a couple details. Apparently he’s also now taken to magically disguising himself as a Human. That certainly makes looking at him and dealing with him easier! ALthough every now and then, his eyes still move independantly. At least it’s not AS creepy as it used to be. We three headed into the tunnel to find this library and these people. Once we were in a ways, I threw up an illusion behind us of a cave-in blocking the way, and Pall was able to boost it so it would last for several hours! The hope was to discourage anyone from following us for a while, but if I had known then what I know now, I may not have bothered…

I’m getting ahead of myself again. We travelled the tunnel for a while, and came upon an active portal. The Deacon couldn’t see or sense it but both Pall and I could. Once we told The Deacon what was there and that we were trying to figure out if it was safe, he just went ahead and travelled through it! Both Pall and I looked at each other and after I checked out the portal for another minute or two we both decided to head through as well.

We arrived in a the ruins of a great library! Some thing or things had unfortunately tore through here before our arrival. Bookshelves were knocked over and torn apart. Books were strewn about, littering the floor. And more bodies. The area was littered with the dead, ripped asunder and probably providing fuel for more of The Deacon’s nightmares. Pall sent his bird familiar to scout the area, looking for The Deacon. Some ways off in the distance (this place was huge!), The Deacon was found near a fire. We headed towards him.

How do I explain this part? There was a room, encased in a sort of wire-energy structure, and inside was a pile of books on fire! However, just poking out from under this pile of books we could see a pair of feet. We checked around and found a keypad nearby! Pall pulled out a strip of flesh he and The Deacon found in that safe-slash-iron maiden thing which had a sequence of numbers on it, and entered those numbers. A portal appeared, and without seeming to think The Deacon jumped through it!

Both Pall and I went in, and here’s where everything went wild.
