“Steve and his lost Love”
The House of Gary is a fierce training facility for Dreadguard in the human resistance. They keep their populous controlled and particular to keep the codes they live by tight.. Due to this, they generally marry off their boys and girls around the age of 15 if they haven’t already taken a mate. This way they can keep the number of outsiders to train to a minimum, and keep it primarily generational of the House of Gary.
In Steve’s case, he was lucky enough to meet his own love, Ash, at the age of 11. Starting as most adolescence, they pasted glares, smiled, and picked on each other just to be close. Though Steve had been training for years, in combat and code, he hadn’t come to a level worthy of Host Armor. He was an average guy, with average features, and a strong physique. As they grew into teens, it was evident that they had taken a liking to each other and most assumed that they would be together. As assumed, they fell in to the kind of love a warrior with a code can have…
At the age of 19, Steve and Ash had been together and married for 3 years. Unfortunately they had not had any kids yet for whatever the reason and though shame would be rather harsh, strong disappointment would be a valid statement. Regardless of this, they were together and happy.
Ash was of a servant family placed into the medical field. Due to this, she was often at Steve’s side, at and after battle. The first couple were minor runs to human farms in lesser populated areas, which were less guarded. This was a common tactic amongst the human resistance. Well then came Steve’s first real battle as a Dreadguard…
At Steve’s first true test of battle fatigue, he was sent to an outskirt area of The House of Genji. Ash was here as well with the medics and back up. It was a fierce battle indeed. The machines seemed very interested in this location and if the machines have a specific target, there’s a reason.. During this 2 week battle of massive death and destruction, the platoon that Steve was in returned from yet another battle that would twist a soul. The next morning, the machines tried a new tactic…
The next morning, as the medical team went out to gather the dying and injured, the machines sprung out to surprise attack them.. The medical group was fairly protected but not enough to handle this assault. By the time backup got there and chased the machines off, all but a couple of the 15 person medical team and a few of the guard were still alive. Of course in this world, the glass is usually half full.. This case proved to be the same. Steve was awakened when the horn was blown, yet not sent out. In his search for Ash, hearing about what had happened, he was unable to find her in camp. On that, as you can assume, he was given news that would cause him to never love again. The news that his wife was indeed in the field and killed..
